Particle Podcast: WiTWA[+] People’s Choice Award 2019

The first ever WiTWA [+] Conference was held on 24 October, celebrating women in STEM across Western Australia.

As part of the new annual conference, an awards segment was created to recognise outstanding female scientists and STEM professionals, with the desire to share their work and achievements with the rest of the state.

One of the award recipients was Dr Lakshini Herat from the UWA Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, where she is a Postdoctoral Research Officer with the Dobney Hypertension Centre.

Dr Herat was recognised by her colleagues for the People’s Choice Award, and told the Particle Podcast what that meant to her.
