Seasons Suspended – Impacts of sport shutdown
In a time when social distancing, self-isolation and uncertainty has taken control of our daily lives, ECU’s researchers provide some comfort and practical advice on how to manage life through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Join Dr Ashlee Morgan, sport business researcher from ECU’s School of Business and Law for a discussion on “Seasons suspended: impacts of sport shutdown from local to elite.”
In this short webinar, they will discuss how community and elite sport provide much more than just entertainment. Sport is an opportunity for individual physical and mental health benefits and are instrumental in the development of social capital and social cohesion within communities. As local clubs are closing their doors, and professional sport seasons have been suspended, the social impact will be felt broadly through the community.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
Webinars will be conducted live via Microsoft Teams and can be viewed from a web browser (Chrome, Firefox or Edge only) on your mobile device or desktop (Windows or Mac). You may be prompted to download the Microsoft Teams application if viewing from your mobile device.
