Green Living: The Mind of Plants

Presented by South Perth & Manning Libraries

Green Living: The Mind of Plants

Gone are the days where plants are considered passive organisms. Did you know that they can communicate through smell and sound using their leaves and roots?

In this fascinating presentation, Adjunct Associate Professor Dr Monica Gagliano will unearth the secret language of plants, showing that they can sense light, gravity, temperature, moisture content and soil quality, while also asking some bigger questions. Do plants experience consciousness? Are plants capable of learning?

This presentation is delivered by Switch Your Thinking as part of National Science Week 2017.

This is a free event, but bookings are essential.
