Choosing locally-grown food

In a time when social distancing, self-isolation and uncertainty has taken control of our daily lives, ECU’s researchers provide some comfort and practical advice on how to manage life through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join Dr Stephanie Godrich, nutrition expert and senior lecturer from ECU’s School of Medical and Health Sciences, for a discussion on “Why we need to eat locally-grown food.”

In this short webinar, they will discuss how it’s more important now than ever before to support our local farmers and food businesses and how supermarkets could be doing more to educate consumers about where the products have been grown. Dr Godrich will also discuss how important food can be for self-care and that this time is a great opportunity to cook some healthy, delicious and comforting meals.


Participants will be offered the additional opportunity to participate in some COVID-19 food supply research after the presentation as well as having the opportunity to ask questions.
